Chanced
This animation comprises of monotypes ,drawn frames and layered with film.
I am experimenting with contrasting styles of narration. One which facilitates a chain of conciousness ,with the process leading and making the story, the other a backbone of concrete narrative that the viewer can follow.
In reality the two interwine and end up reflecting and supporting each other. The viewer is prompted now and again with moments of clarity that seem out of reach. Aware that each strand of narrative is effectively striving to say the same things on different levels and by different means.

Etchings
Year 2
This drawing was done slowly over the summer, little by little and over this period different moods and memories were absorbed into the piece over the days and weeks.I was playing with the idea of being confined to our own perception represented by the bubble and my place within the world.I conveyed metaphors such the ship made of ship wrecks and the sun and the moon in a type of tribal language while synthesizing areas of sustainment in other places.I fused anatomy drawing, photo transfers and washes to show a very unscientific diagram of my body.

Exhibition Piece 1
This was one of two pieces in the show. With this drawing I started in the middle with the earliest memories I could conjure, then worked my way up towards the present.
The top triangle which represented the then and now.
The concentrated abstract forms of the bottom triangle conveying the unknown future.
Memories, key events and themes of feelings mean its bursting with imagery.... many said it was like 'Where’s Wally' and in many ways it is. People picked out objects and stared intently searching for something and this searching was an exploring of my life.
It’s a visual autobiography
Exhibition Piece 2
The memories and events are abstracted so absolute certainty of what is actually going on remains out of reach- but real enough for the viewer to get an impression.
With many often seeing and connecting the forms to perceive something beyond my intention, which perhaps reflects something within themselves.
